Nigel Hawke, Managing Director 

Nigel advises upon and arranges project finance for infrastructure projects such as power generation and rail transportation.  Nigel's international experience covers banking, industry and consultancy.  He is experienced with cross-functional and multi-cultural groups having worked in many countries across Europe and South East Asia .

He also has wide working knowledge in cash generation and improving the use of working capital. His work in finance spans over 31 years.

In 2008 Talanworth continues to support its clients.  2007 entailed continuing work overseas for a substantial client developing a major US PPP infrastructure project. 

During 2006 Nigel led 30 financial assessments for bids submitted to a quasi-government client and supported an overseas client achieving a very successful divestment. Existing assignments for other clients continued. This was the most successful year to date for the Company.

2005 proved an important year for the Company securing the contracts described under Experience.  Nigel spent much of 2004 working for Gama Construction Ireland in relation to the Tynagh Energy 400MW CCGT power generation project in County Galway, Ireland.  The role also included services for the Project Company.

In 2003 he carried out a cash improvement project for a major bank. From 2002-2003 he led a Euro 1 billion cash improvement project in the power industry, significantly increasing cash release, and incorporating new sectors via specialised but highly practical training. This role included managing a substantial European receivables securitisation programme.

Working as a senior executive he has raised equity and debt finance for major rail transportation and power generation projects.  He was Finance Director for a Euro 200 million investment fund for a major industrial group. This included arranging finance for the landmark 760MW Laibin B coal-fired power station, the first Wholly Foreign Owned Enterprise project in the Peoples Republic of China . He was a Board Director of an operating hydro-electric power station in Turkey, specialising in lender relationships.

Prior to working in industry, Nigel was a Director of Barclays de Zoete Wedd, a UK registered investment bank, wholly owned by Barclays Bank, specialising in real estate and project finance, including PFI (Private Finance Initiative) projects. Nigel is a graduate in Economics and Philosophy at Oxford University.
