2005 Due diligence for acquisition and subsequent enhancement of operations of a number of UK waste treatment plants including development of Information Memorandum, oversight of financial model and presentations to financial investors.

2005 Early stage due diligence for acquisition of European power station.

2003/04 Gama Construction Ireland. Talanworth worked as an integral member of the project team to first achieve preferred bidder status and then to finance the construction of a new 400MW combined cycle gas turbine power generation plant in County Galway, Ireland costing in excess of €250m, financial close August 2004.

2004 Tynagh Energy mandate extended to provide financial modelling services to Gama Construction Ireland’s project company on a sub-contracted basis.

ALSTOM Power, Paris

2002/03 European securitization of receivables €400m in Germany, Switzerland, France, Sweden and UK.  Extended countries covered, set up training, IT, documentation and accounting changes necessary.

2003 Supported 6 Sigma Black Belt project in power business segment to improve cash generation.  6 sigma metrics established much faster and with improved buy-in from colleagues.

2002/03 Managed €1.2 billion cash generation programme for business with turnover of €12 billion. Cash targets were increased by 45%, a €200m improvement to ALSTOM’s net cash for 2002/03.  

2003 Arranged and led cash generation training for 25 units (80% turnover) highly profitable global services business (sales €3.6bn), co-designed training material, coached presenters. Units identified €100m cash release.

2002/03 Director of operating power station, Birecik Dam Hydro-electric 6 x 112MW, Turkey, representing ALSTOM and a co-investor. Managed international banking relationships for €800m debt facilities. Equity obligations restructured.  

2003 Due diligence analysis of terms of acquisition obtaining third party claim reduction in relation to UK power project contract for €12m. 

2002 Internal training of financial staff in cash generation techniques.

2002 Co-ordinated production of and developed specific analysis for parts of ALSTOM Group 2001/02 Management Discussion & Analysis.

2002 Developed excel reporting tool for Sector (global sales Euro 14.5 billion) off-balance sheet exposure.

1996/01 equity portfolio exceeding Euro 200m. Direct work on 28 power and 16 transport projects. Local assignments in Australia, China, Croatia, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Netherlands, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and USA.

1996/01 Internal adviser to Senior Management, including CEO's office, on risk analysis and financing of limited recourse infrastructure projects.  Attendance at Risk Management Committees in Paris attended by Sector Heads.  Analysis of numerous requests for Company to invest in or support such projects and recommendations for investments by the Company.

1997 Finance aspects, including finance plan, project document mark-up and modelling supervision of bid for 700MW coal-fired power plant in Hunan Province, China, including negotiations with authorities in Beijing.

1997/98 finance structure and documentation mark-up for proposed 1,000MW coal-fired power plant, Croatia, including sole preferred bidder negotiations in Zagreb and training of power authority staff in project finance techniques in conjunction with lead financial adviser in London. Chaired public conference held in Zagreb in dual language on power project.

1996 – 1999 Oversaw finance aspects for development of 1,000MW coal-fired power project Nagpur, India, including relationships with financial adviser and lead arranging banks, including Export Credit Agencies.  Advised on finance / risk consequences of power project supplied by coal project.

1996 Oversaw financial aspects of bid for water purification and 388MW oil fired power plant, Oman.

1996/03 Birecik Dam 672MW hydo-power plant, Turkey . Adviser to Board on debt mix and finance during construction .  Director of Birecik project company in Turkey 2003.

1996 Finance aspects of CCGT power plant in Argentina, including oversight of financial model, and development of financing strategy.

1996 Oversaw appointment of financial advisers and lead arrangers, financial modelling and financial aspects of bid for 300MW CCGT Tunisia.

1996 Oversaw financial aspects of commercial bid for 15MW co-generation, Brazil.

1996 Advised commercial manager on financial aspects for three gas fired power plants for major commercial company, Brazil.

1996 Financial analysis and bid preparation for proposed new 1,000MW gas fired power plant in UK being developed by corporate entity.

1996 Oversaw financial aspects of bid submission for 1,050MW gas fired power plant, Saudi Arabia.

1996 Oversaw finance aspects of bid, including finance structure and oversight of financial modelling for 650MW power plant, Egypt.

1996/97 Supported finance aspects of proposed 2,640MW, coal-fired power plant in China.

1996-1998 Arranged in Paris, London, Hong Kong, Beijing and Nanning finance for first Wholly Foreign Owned Enterprise (WFOE) Chinese 760 MW coal fired power station. Work included selection and management of financial advisers, management of production of financial model, model audit, tax, accounting and insurance advisers, client negotiations in Beijing and Nanning, lead arranger bank management, O&M arrangements, documentation, lenders' technical adviser support, syndication presentation in Hong Kong, loan drawings, model updates and monitoring / reports.

1992 1,500 MW Hub River Power Project in Pakistan, declined Barclays’ participation as one of the Lead Arrangers following completion of extensive due diligence.
